I have some truly inspirational friends here in Wyoming (I’ll dive deeper into that later).  Riley Sparling is one of the most glamorous, fashionable women I know and she has a knack for finding amazing pieces on a budget.  Give that girl a flea market, garage sale, thrift store or an hour in Marshall’s and she’ll be rocking an amazingly unique look.

When I bought my new camera it was clear to me that I needed a lot of practice to dust off the photography cobwebs, and Riley volunteered to be my first shoot.

Side note: how perfect is that tiny little snowflake on her lip!

Riley has a million wool blankets so we decided to make that the focus of this shoot.  We drove out to Hat Six Road and found a pull off with a lot of cows and a foggy view.

Since this was the middle of April I was hoping for clear blue skies but springtime in the Rockies has a mind of it’s own.  Looking back through these photos I’m appreciative of the unexpected weather here, it helped me get some practice in shooting snow and the stark white background really make Riley’s features pop.

This was a fun and exciting and cold first shoot, but girl, shoot (in the words of Riley herself) I’m so grateful for the support of my friends and family on this new adventure and I can’t wait to share more photoshoots with you in the future.
